Today is a red-letter day. I passed the 1000 mile mark on my new bike. I rode the first mile on October 6, 2006 and ened at 1015.5 today, September 22, 2007.

Two pictures of Port Everglades before we departed. Lots of shipping activity in that port. The channel in front the the two tall building in the picture on the left is the channel that we followed to get to the open seas.

Pictures of Mom and I in our stateroom soon after boarding the ship. We had had a short night and she needed a nap.

We sailed all the way around Cuba. We came within 8 miles of the Cuba.

This is a view of Ocho Rios from our state room balcony as we were docking. And a picture of me in front of the ship. Our stateroom is the last forward balcony on row just above the big opening where the life boats are hanging.

In Jamaica we climbed up Dunns River Falls. We didn't take our camera because we didn't want it to get wet. So we settled for buying this post card. You climb up the middle of this water fall. I believe it is a climb of 800 feet. Very refreshing on a hot day. Our guide let us know that he expected a tip before we ever started the climb. I had left all of our money in the tour van, so he followed me to the van to make sure he got his tip. All of the people in Jamaica were very agressive in selling stuff and trying to get you to go with them. The cruise ship folks told us the best three words to know in Jamaica are "No Thank You".

This is a picture of Georgetown, Cayman. It was a very beautiful view. The bay was too shallow for the ships to dock, so we had to take a tender to and from the shore.

One of the highlights of the whole trip was swimming with the stingrays. It was a very awsome experience. We went on a boat about a mile off shore to a sandbar where the water was about 3-4 feet deep and were able to touch and hold the stingrays. The bottom of them is so very soft. I bought a picture of us with the rays and one of me actually holding a ray. I will post those when after they arrive in the mail.

Every night when we came back to our room we had a different animal on our bed made out of towelss.

This was the sunrise as we were docking back in Fll on Thursday morning. What a great vacation we had. We had very mild seas that were no more than 3-4 feet. A little rain now and then, but it was short lived and all most welcomed. For our very first cruise, it couldn't have been better weather.
